Commercial Real Estate Listings
BuildingSearch.com has a wide variety of Connecticut commercial real estate listings including office, retail, bio-tech/med, industrial and more. Connecticut is the 29th most populated state with a population of 3,405,565, but is the forth most populated state by density. Connecticut’s economy stems from the colonial days because of its amount of raw materials, but now focuses more on insurance and hedge fund companies rather than manufacturing. This combination has given Connecticut the highest per capita income, Human Development rating, and medium household income in the Nation. In 2006, the gross state product was $204 billion dollars, making the per capita income $54,117 a year. This makes Connecticut a haven for commercial real estate. In Fairfield County, one of Connecticut’s largest and most urban counties, the commercial real estate market stayed stable, only increasing vacancy slightly and keeping absorption positive. Little leasing activity was due to low demand for all types of office spaces, with almost 20% of total deals completed from subleasing. The vacancy rate in Fairfield County came to 15.9%, which is only 10 basis points over the first quarter of 2008. Overall, the commercial real estate market in Connecticut is suffering from the plunge of the national economy and has made leasing/selling activity scarce. This trend will eventually subside once the national economy starts to become more stable.
